
On June 15–18, 2025, the 29th International Workshop of Agricultural Economists (XXIX Warsztaty Ekonomistów Rolnych) took place in Krasnobród (Lublin Voivodeship, Poland).
The event was organized on the initiative of:
– the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN);
– the Department of Management and Economics of Enterprises at the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków;
– the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW);
– the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the Jan Paul II Academy of Applied Sciences in Biała Podlaska – under the patronage of the Association of Agricultural Economists and Agribusiness (SERiA);
and with the support of the project “Substantiation and measures for implementation of a human rights-based integrated approach to rural development, food security and land policy in post-war rebuilding of Ukraine” (acronym: “rUAr: Rebuild Rural Ukraine”), funded within the framework of the Long-Term Program of Support for Ukrainian Research Teams at the Polish Academy of Sciences, carried out in cooperation with the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and financially supported by external partners.
The main objective of the workshop was to foster integration among young researchers working in the fields of economics, finance, management, and agribusiness, as well as to enable knowledge exchange with experienced scholars on topics such as academic development, research publication, and career progression in science and education.

The event was attended by representatives of the Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine:
– Dr. Oksana Sakal, Senior Research Fellow, Head of the Land Use Experimental Design Department “Innovation Center” (Land Management Institute of NAAS of Ukraine; Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development, Polish Academy of Sciences – IRWiR PAN);
– Maria Bratinova, PhD candidate and Junior Research Fellow (Land Management Institute of NAAS of Ukraine; Department of Geoinformatics and Aerospace Earth Research, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine – NULES).
During the workshop, Oksana Sakal and Maria Bratinova presented a comprehensive study that combined scientific results obtained within the framework of the “rUAr: Rebuild Rural Ukraine” project and the key concepts of Maria Bratinova’s PhD dissertation.


The workshop format focused on the presentation of academic papers, including outlines of future dissertations, research projects, publications, and grant applications.
The interaction among participants contributed to the professional development of young researchers, the dissemination of knowledge, and the strengthening of international collaboration within the community of agricultural economists.
