On December 5, 2022, the final conference “Supporting scientists from Ukraine: results and new opportunities” was held at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Jerzy Duszyński and President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Prof. Anatolii Zahorodnyi. The event was also attended by representatives of the US National Academy of Sciences, directors of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, in which Ukrainian scientists had the opportunity to continue their research and acquire new knowledge, as well as the head and employees of the Department of International Cooperation of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the head of the Representation of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kyiv.

The conference presented the reports of two researchers from Ukraine who received a scholarship as part of the support of the Polish Academy of Sciences to scientists from Ukraine in connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. One of these reports was presented by the head of the department of the Land management institute of National academy of agrarian sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics Oksana Sakal, who collaborated with the Department of Economic Modeling of the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In her report, O. Sakal emphasized the current problems of land use and protection in Ukraine, and the need for new organizational and economic approaches to restoration of the productive potential of lands affected by hostilities considering their agricultural use and ensuring food security.

Further directions of support by the Polish Academy of Sciences and the international scientific community of Ukrainian researchers were also presented at the conference.
