Young Scientists of the Land Management Institute of NAAS Participated in the Congress of Young Scientists “Youth Science for Politics” in Lviv
On March 5, 2026, the Lviv State University of Life Safety hosted the Congress of Young Scientists “Youth Science for Politics,” organized by the Young Scientists Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine was represented by Roman Kharytonenko, PhD in Economics and Chair of the Institute’s Young Scientists Council, and Mariia Zavodiana, Junior Research Fellow.
The event brought together young scientists from universities, research institutions, and organizations across Ukraine. Opening remarks were delivered by Denys Kurbatov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine; Dmytro Bondar, Rector of Lviv State University of Life Safety and Major General of the Civil Protection Service; and Anastasiia Simakhova, Chair of the Young Scientists Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In their addresses, they emphasized the importance of advancing youth-driven science and actively engaging young researchers in the processes of public policy development and evaluation.
The Congress featured two thematic panel discussions: “Implementing Cooperation Programs between the Scientific Community and the Public Decision-Making Sector in Ukraine” and “Young Scientists’ Research for National Security.” Participants discussed mechanisms for translating research findings into public administration practice, national security challenges, the development of innovative technologies, and international scientific cooperation.
At the closing of the event, each participant received a certificate of participation. As part of an interdisciplinary approach, a guided tour of the Lviv State University of Life Safety campus and a tour of historic Lviv were also organized. This format helped broaden participants’ perspectives, fostered informal networking among young scientists from diverse fields, and strengthened inter-institutional ties.
The event served as an important platform for exchanging experience, showcasing scientific initiatives, and building new partnerships aimed at strengthening the role of science in national development.
