Participation of Land Management Institute Scientists in the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Boyarka Forest Research Station

On October 23, 2025, the Boyarka Forest Research Station, a separate division of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP), solemnly celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding. The event marked a major milestone for the entire forestry community, bringing together experts, scientists, representatives of government institutions, international organizations, and the private sector.

To mark the occasion, the station hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Sustainable Forest Management in the Context of Climate Change: From Research to Practice.” The conference gathered representatives of academic institutions, educational organizations, government bodies, and international forestry-related entities.

The conference opened with a welcome speech by Vadym Tkachuk, Doctor of Economics and Rector of NUBiP of Ukraine, who emphasized the vital role the Boyarka Forest Research Station has played in advancing forest science and in training skilled forestry professionals in Ukraine.

As part of the anniversary events, the station officially opened a new training and production laboratory for harvester and forwarder operators. The lab was created to equip students with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in operating modern forestry machinery. This initiative represents a significant step forward in modernizing forestry education and enhancing the international competitiveness of Ukrainian specialists.

Following the plenary session, conference participants toured key research sites of the Institute of Forestry and Landscape-Park Management at NUBiP. The tour included visits to permanent research plots, training areas, experimental plantings, and unique natural forest stands used for practical training, scientific research, and testing of innovative forestry practices.

The Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) of Ukraine was represented at the event by:
• Oksana Sakal, Doctor of Economics, Senior Research Fellow
• Andrii Dorosh, PhD in Economics
