Participation of Scientists from the Land Management Institute of the NAAS of Ukraine in the Conference “Ukraine in the Perspective of Integration with the European Union: Opportunities and Challenges for Rural Areas and Agriculture in Poland and the EU”

On June 25, 2025, a seminar titled “Ukraine in the Perspective of Integration with the European Union: Opportunities and Challenges for Rural Areas and Agriculture in Poland and the EU” was held in Warsaw, Republic of Poland. The event was organized by the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN) and supported by the project rUAr: Rebuild Rural Ukraine (“Substantiation and measures for implementation of a human rights-based integrated approach to rural development, food security and land policy in post-war rebuilding of Ukraine”). The project is financed under the “Long-term program of support of the Ukrainian research teams at the Polish Academy of Sciences,” carried out in collaboration with the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and with the financial support of external partners.
 

 
The Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine was represented at the event by:
Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the NAAS of Ukraine, Director Yosyp Dorosh;
Deputy Director Andrii Tarnopolskyi;
Doctor of Economics, Professor Olha Dorosh;
Doctor of Economics, Senior Researcher Oksana Sakal;
PhD in Economics Roman Derkulskyi.
 
During the event, an analytical report titled “Ukraine in the Perspective of Integration with the European Union: Opportunities and Challenges for Rural Areas and Agriculture of Poland and the EU” was presented by the head of the authors’ team, Professor Paweł Chmieliński, Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN).
The authors’ team included: Monika Stanny, Aleksandra Pawłowska, Vitaliy Krupin, and Yuliia Tsybulska (IRWiR PAN);
Olena Borodina and Victor Yarovyi (Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine); Yosyp Dorosh, Shamil Ibatullin, Andrii Tarnopolskyi, Oksana Sakal, and Roman Derkulskyi (Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine).
Following the presentation, a panel discussion took place, focusing on the challenges Ukraine faces in the post-war recovery process and its integration into European structures.
 

 
During the ceremonial part of the event, Dr. hab., Prof. Monika Stanny, Director of the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN), was formally presented with a diploma certifying her as a foreign member of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
 
On behalf of the Presidium of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, and by the order of the Academy’s President, Academician Iaroslav Gadzalo, the honorary mission of presenting the diploma was carried out by Professor Yosyp Dorosh, Director of the Land Management Institute of the NAAS of Ukraine.
 


 
In his address, Academician Yosyp Dorosh briefly outlined the role of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and highlighted the scientific and civic contributions of Dr. hab., Prof. Monika Stanny to the advancement of agricultural science in Poland, her academic and public support for Ukraine during the war, her active engagement in international scientific collaboration, and her personal solidarity and volunteer efforts.
 

 
The team of the Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine sincerely congratulates Dr. hab., Prof. Monika Stanny, Director of the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN), on this high recognition. We wish her continued scientific achievements and fruitful Polish-Ukrainian cooperation through joint research initiatives.
