07 – On October 07-10, 2024, employees of the Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine took part in the International Conference of Young Professionals “GeoTerrace-2024”, organized by the Institute of Geodesy of Lviv Polytechnic National University in cooperation with the European Association of Geophysicists and Engineers (EAGE).
 
During the conference, participants presented scientific ideas and practical research, in particular: GNSS and satellite geodesy, Earth surface processes and geodynamics, 3D modeling and visualization for geology and mining, remote sensing and GIS for environmental monitoring, land cover mapping and UAVs, recording, monitoring and assessment of war consequences, and post-war reconstruction.
 
Employees of the Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine made the following reports and presentations in English:
– Assessment of the agricultural potential of a territorial community based on soil suitability mapping for crop cultivation (Оцінка сільськогосподарського потенціалу територіальної громади за картографуванням придатності ґрунтів для вирощування сільськогосподарських культур);
– Application of GIS for analysis and monitoring of reclaimed lands in the context of current challenges (Застосування ГІС для аналізу та моніторингу меліорованих земель у контексті сучасних викликів);
– The Spatial Analysis in the Course of the Rural Territorial Community Household Land Tenure Optimization (Просторовий аналіз у ході оптимізації землеволодінь домогосподарств сільської територіальної громади);
– Application of GIS in establishing (changing) the boundaries of administrative-territorial units on the example of rural settlements (Застосування ГІС при встановленні (зміні) меж адміністративно-територіальних одиниць на прикладі сільських населених пунктів);
– The use of remote sensing methods for monitoring and assessing the scale of destruction during the war on the example of the southern regions of Ukraine (Використання методів ДЗЗ для моніторингу та оцінки масштабів руйнувань під час війни на прикладі південних регіонів України).
 
During the event, participants discussed prospects and challenges related to recording, monitoring and assessing the consequences of war, as well as post-war reconstruction using GIS technologies.
