XXX International Workshop of Agricultural Economists with the Participation of Researchers from the Institute of Land Management of NAAS
Researchers from the Institute of Land Management of NAAS, Mariia Zavodiana and Bohdanna Zaiachkivska, PhD in Economics, took part in the jubilee 30th International Workshop of Agricultural Economists (XXX Warsztaty Ekonomistów Rolnych), held on June 15–17, 2026, in Krasnobród, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. The event was jointly organized by the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN), the Department of Management and Economics of Enterprises of the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków, the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), and the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the John Paul II University of Applied Sciences in Biała Podlaska, under the auspices of the Polish Association of Agricultural and Agribusiness Economists (SERiA).
Both researchers delivered presentations that organically combined results obtained within the framework of the international project “rUAr: Rebuild Rural Ukraine” (implemented under the “Long-term Program of Support for Ukrainian Research Teams at the Polish Academy of Sciences, carried out in collaboration with the U.S. National Academy of Sciences with the financial support of external partners”) and the international project LandShift, carried out with the support of the EU “Horizon Europe” programme under grant agreement No. 101182007 (co-authored with Vitalii Krupin, Oksana Sakal, Bohdanna Zaiachkivska, Mariia Zavodiana, and Andrii Dorosh). In addition, the presentations outlined the key findings of their own research work and of Mariia Zavodiana’s dissertation research.
A key objective of the workshop was to bring together young researchers from the fields of economics, finance, management, and agribusiness. Participants had the opportunity to learn from leading experts in science and education, gain deeper insight into pathways for academic development, and explore the specifics of publishing the results of current scientific research.
The format of the event was focused on active presentation of research papers and discussion of dissertation plans, new projects, publications, and grant applications. Direct communication between colleagues and experts continues to be an effective driver of professional growth for young scientists, the dissemination of up-to-date knowledge, and the deepening of international cooperation within the community of agricultural economists.
The Institute of Land Management of NAAS expresses its sincere gratitude to the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN) for supporting the participation of our researchers in this prestigious event. We extend special thanks to Vitalii Krupin, a researcher at IRWiR PAN, whose personal assistance, together with the support of the Institute’s management, made this participation possible. Cooperation with IRWiR PAN represents an important step in the development of international scientific collaboration.
The exhibition is taking place in Olenivka village, Fastiv district, Kyiv region. The LandShift project (https://landshift.eu/) – “Community-Led Creation of Living Spaces in Shifting Landscapes for Climate-Resilient Land Use Management and Supporting the New European Bauhaus” – aims to transform land-use practices to enhance climate resilience and support the sustainable development of communities. The project is funded under the European Union’s research and innovation programme Horizon Europe in accordance with Grant Agreement No. 101182007.
