Guest lecture on “Methodology for the Formation of Agricultural Land Parcels. European Land Parcel Identification Systems (LPIS)” for students and faculty of the Department of Land Resources Management, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine

On April 9, 2025, at the initiative of the Department of Land Resources Management of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP of Ukraine), a guest lecture was held on the topic:
“Methodology for the Formation of Agricultural Land Parcels. European Land Parcel Identification Systems (LPIS)”.
 
The speaker was Dr. Roman Kharytonenko, PhD in Economics, Senior Research Fellow at the Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, and an alumnus of the Faculty of Land Management at NUBiP of Ukraine.
During the lecture, he shared his practical experience with first-year master’s students, focusing on current challenges in the formation of agricultural land parcels under present-day conditions.
 

 
The lecture was attended by academic staff of the Faculty of Land Management, including:
Prof. Olha Dorosh, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Land Resources Management;
Assoc. Prof. Yevhen Butenko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Land Resources Management;
and Mariia Bratinova, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Geoinformatics and Aerospace Earth Research, and Junior Research Fellow at the Land Management Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
 
During the event, the following key topics were discussed:
– regulatory and methodological foundations for the formation of agricultural land parcels;
– core concepts and identification criteria for forming agricultural land blocks;
– practical examples and challenges encountered in the land consolidation process;
– advanced international practices related to the functioning of LPIS systems.
 
The lecture sparked considerable interest among both students and faculty members. Participants had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies and approaches in land management, which are becoming increasingly relevant in the context of digitalization and harmonization of land governance processes with European standards.
